Welcome to My Easy Greek Recipes, where the tzatziki is creamy, the feta is crumbly, and the love is real ❤️. Healthy and fresh whole ingredients? ✅ Tried and true methods? ✅ You bet your baklava these recipes will have you feeling like you’re sipping ouzo by the Aegean 🌊.
Now, a little backstory: I spent some of my most formative childhood years living on the island of Crete in Greece 🇬🇷. Why? Oh, my dad was just a casual Olympic water polo legend 🤽🏼♂️, and following his career, he began coaching for the Greek men’s team 🤽🏼♂️. Our family was quickly embraced by the families of the players who taught my mom the art of Greek cooking 👩🍳. She lovingly handed these recipes down to me. And now I’m passing them along to you – with a modern twist, of course!
Eat Like You Live in a Blue Zone
You may have heard of the popular Blue Zones 🌀 – 5 rare areas around the world where people live longer, healthier lives. Well, surprise surprise, one of them is in (drumroll)… Greece 🇬🇷! The Mediterranean diet 🥗 is the cornerstone of healthy Greek Blue Zone living, along with socializing like it’s a competitive sport.
Greek recipes are renowned for their fresh, whole ingredients – we’re talking lean proteins like lamb and chicken, juicy fruits and crisp veggies, and the liquid gold of the gods: extra virgin olive oil 🫒. The laid-back Greek lifestyle allows plenty of time for slow living, which means making more items from scratch and relying less on processed foods. So, if you want to live and eat well, it’s time to go Greek, baby.
Easy Greek Recipe Ingredients
Greek cooking is easy and approachable – with the right ingredients 🌱! To truly eat like a Blue Zone local, stock up on these kitchen staples. This way you can have Easy Greek Recipes right at your fingertips whenever the craving hits 😋.
Good Olive Oil: Let’s get one thing straight: not all olive oil is created equal. Look for clues that indicate you’ve found a good bottle. Is it extra virgin, first cold pressed; single origin, and packaged in a dark glass bottle or tin? Then you’ve found a good one!
Greek Seasoning: Greek food is ridiculously flavorful because of its generous use of herbs 🌱 and spices. We’re talking oregano, thyme, basil, dill, mint, rosemary, garlic, onion powder… and that’s just naming a few! You can buy it premade or make your own signature blend!
Lemons: When life gives you lemons 🍋, make GREEK FOOD! They’re squeezed into marinades, whisked into dressings, zested into soups, and basically make everything 200% more delicious. Go ahead, keep a bowl of them on the table – they’re pretty AND useful!
Greek Yogurt: This creamy, tangy superstar does it all: dips, sauces, marinades, desserts—you name it. It’s basically the Greek version of duct tape (or Windex, for my Big Fat Greek Wedding fans – IYKYK 😉). Simply put, Greek yogurt is the kitchen MVP.
Feta: If you know me, then you know that I’m a bit of a feta connoisseur 💅. The ONLY way to buy feta is in brine – please, no pre-crumbled stuff! It’s so good in soups and salads, crumbled over watermelon, or whipped into a sweet and savory feta dip. Once you’ve had authentic feta, you’ll never go back!

Lemon Feta Orzo
My lemon feta orzo will blow you away. I served this dish to my mom and she said it’s one of the best recipes I have ever made.
My simple Easy Chicken Gyros loaf pan method mimics the traditional spit roasted texture that is tender and juicy on the inside with those crispy edges we all love 😍.
Stuffed tomatoes (Gemista) are endlessly versatile. This is my version: juicy, fat tomatoes filled with a savory ground meat and rice mixture, loaded with aromatics, and roasted until tender and bubbling.
These Greek Chicken Gyros are meticulously seasoned and roasted to perfection. The chicken is stacked on a spit and slow-roasted until the exterior develops a slight caramelized char while the inside remains tender and succulent 🤤.
Tzatziki, also known as tarator or cacık, can be served as a dip, soup, or sauce and is found in the cuisines of Southeast Europe and the Middle East. It takes 5 minutes to make and is the most refreshing dip or side to any dish.
These potatoes will be your new favorite side dish. They are crispy on the outside, soft and lemony on the inside. This is what potato dreams are made of and I highly recommend you give this recipe a try.
Ready in just 10 minutes from start to finish, this show-stopping Greek Salad Feta Board features everything you know and love about its iconic older sister.
This leg of lamb will blow you away with its flavors and tenderness. Slow-roasting yields super soft onions, flavorful potatoes, and fall-apart lamb meat. The roasted garlic cloves can be squeezed from the peels and enjoyed on fresh bread.
Pastitsio is what Greeks call their version of lasagna! It features layers of bucatini-style pasta in a rich meaty sauce, topped with a thick layer of béchamel. A cozy and comforting classic.
Sweet Easter Bread is so nostalgic for me: it symbolizes tradition, family, love, and my childhood. This recipe is very easy, comes together with minimal hands-on work, and yields TWO fluffy, tender, sweet bread loaves.
Are you looking for an easy and delicious one-pot meal 🥘 that requires minimal effort and prep? Look no further than my Spatchcock Greek Lemon Chicken recipe!
The secret to my Authentic Greek Salad lies in the quality of its ingredients: fresh, crisp vegetables and two generous wedges of authentic Greek feta cheese.
Greek Lemon Soup tastes like home to me. My mom has been making this soup for me since I was a baby. Rice, chicken, and egg yolks are cooked directly in the soup, making this a wholesome, filling one-pot meal.
Make my five-ingredient Puff Pastry Spanakopita that's a modern take on the classic Greek phyllo pie. It tastes just like it but waaaaay easier to make!
